Official New Year’s Announcements! NursingBytes is open!

Just wanted to let you all know that after much thought and consideration, I have officially launched a new blog over at NursingBytes.net!

My first post there outlines the reasons for the new space, and the site is still under construction, but please give me a visit and get your RSS readers ready! In short, it is a place more focused on Nursing as a profession and the information on the web related to it. Just go with me on this one!

The second announcement I have for today is my tentative employment as a Nurse Practitioner in an Emergency Room at a local lake side hospital! That will be a relief to a few instructor at UPenn who didn’t understand my lack of ambition in using my NP license (I wanted to fly, duh!). I use ever bit of my education in my current role as a flight nurse, but it will be a good change of pace to round out my professional credentials and just plain stretch my brain muscle. Although I am, almost literally, scared shitless, I am looking forward to it. Now the challenge will be getting through the hospital’s credentialing paperwork!

2008 has the feel of a very exciting year for me both personally and professionally. I have looked forward to writing 2008 for quite awhile as the thought of a new beginning brings a certain amount of hope and excitement.

For all of you, my dear readers, I hope the new year has the same fresh start and potential as well.

  1. Good for you!!!

    Never stop challenging yourself.

Now, if only I can convince myself that I’m not too old to be challenging myself. I feel old.

    I digress. I’m thrilled for you 🙂
