Funny thing? I scored EXACTLY the same for both James Bond and Lara Croft.

What in the heck does that mean? Ohhh…..a girl version of the two combined would be sexy incredible.

Okay, so I worked last night, didn’t get much sleep, am VERY tired…….but still cruising the internet.

This is all I am good for right now.

Which Action Hero Would You Be? v. 2.0
created with QuizFarm.com
You scored as James Bond, Agent 007

James Bond is MI6′s best agent, a suave, sophisticated super spy with charm, cunning, and a license’s to kill. He doesn’t care about rules or regulations and somewhat amoral. He does care about saving humanity though, as well as the beautiful women who fill his world. Bond has expensive tastes, a wide knowledge of many subjects, and his usually armed with a clever gadget and an appropriate one-liner.

One of the flight nurses I work with, an incredible guy himself, has the most amazing kids. His son Sam, a high school student, made this film as part of a Thanksgiving tradition in their family. Dad proudly queued up the movie and I instantly knew this would be a great balance to my serious post for today.

So, with his permission I give you….

The girl’s father, doing all he can to physically hold up his wife as they watch the fire fighters pull apart the car their only daughter crumpled around the tree.

The tears of a worried mother who can do nothing for her lifeless baby except let the nurse and doctor work.

The shaking hand of an elderly man trying to be calm in the hurricane which hit an hour before when his wife’s stroke manifested.

The disbelief on the face of a young wife, holding an infant as the physician explains why her young, sick husband needs a breathing tube.

The fear overtaking a son as he stares at his father from the doorway of the trauma bay, trying not to breathe the unforgettable smell of burned skin.

The anxiety of the flight nurse, hidden beneath her deliberate movements, direct questions, and professional confidence as she tries to give realistic hope to the family and lifesaving care to her patient.

I am grateful for every moment I am given with those I love.

“Please, do everything you can. She is all I have. Treat her like she was your own family.”

. . . be certain that I always do.

Today's view---first snow

Today’s view—first snow,
originally uploaded by crzegrl15.

This is a look at the first real snow of the year from the window of
the FRN (flight registered nurse) quarters. Seems like a Michigan girl
would be smart enough to put a window scraper in her car. But alas, it
is not so.

Paul, please tell me again why Sylvia didn’t come with heated seats?

But I digress. No flights are in my future for this night shift.
Hopefully the view from my office window will not be out the back door
of an ambulance!

I finished my sleeve tattoo on Friday. When I showed up at the shop, she asked how long I wanted to sit for the appointment. I, of course, asked how long she had.

W-R-O-N-G question.

“Well, I could finish it if you want.”

Hmmmmmmm, the possibility was too much to turn down.

“Well, let’s go until I cry like a baby,” I said with a grin.

At about the four hour mark, I asked her how long she had worked on someone all in one sitting.

Her answer? Seven hours.

I wasn’t crying…yet.

Finishing my arm took, yes indeed—–seven hours—–give or take 10 minutes.

Before Friday? Yeah, my record, complete with woooosy girl tears, was three and a half hours.

I really need another hobby. Or, I will finish my sleeve. *digs out ocean life books*

Although I tend to not do searchs to feed my blogging ego, I am finding certian quests both educational and enlightening. While scanning through my Technorati links, I came across Work-related Blogs and News. Not only is crzegrl.net included in the blogroll, but has an impressive list of sites from a variety of medical professionals, and many others (librarians, academics, lawyers, etc.) as well.

I am looking forward reading through the advice aimed at those of us who blog about work. Great idea for a blog!

I just hit a new milestone of sorts. Crzegrl.net was mentioned on a non-medical blog! Thanks to Jim Harper at The Technology Liberation Front mentioning me as one of the blogs using the WashintonWatch widget. (See my post here.) Color me silly, but he gave me a paragraph! Sweeeet!

Update: Jim Harper also writes for WashingtonWatch.com and left a similar post on their site here!
