Chicago Skyline in the Sunset

It never fails. When one particular physician and I are on the duty schedule together we get a late flight. This particular day was nothing out of the ordinary. We didn’t do anything until 40 minutes from shift change.

The flight request took us south for a trauma patient and were rewarded with one of the most amazing sunsets I have ever seen. The skyline of Chicago is silhouetted by the sun across Lake Michigan, the Sears Tower actually visible if you look closely enough.

Although I wish I had something profound to say about the flight or the view, I don’t want to take away from the simple beauty.
