Return from Annual Training
EMT Section
Well, I am back from my 2 weeks at lovely Fort Gordon, Georgia. I have much to say about being an Army Reserve Nurse, but that will be for later.
For now, I will tell you that the last two weeks have helped me realize what the last 6 years in the civilian world have done to me.
I am desperately missing my Army friends, of new and of old, for their stimulating conversation, intelligence, camaraderie, and passion. Where else could you find such a diverse cross section of people willing sit in the dark, near the port-o-johns, and share a bottle of good Scotch?
Although this entry is short, the emotions run deep. I will hopefully be better able to eloquently express how much the past two weeks have meant to me, and will mean to me for years to come.

I don’t remember any nurses that looked like that when I was in the Army!
*sigh*
I’m guessing all the guys hanging out and sharing their scotch were less interested in the conversation than the 2 gorgeous women pictured above.

That’s what happens when you branch combat arms…and go to Fort Irwin. Need I say more?
